The hyena is a carnivores most commonly found in Africa and Asia. It is fifth- smallest biological family in the carnivora and one of the smallest class in mammalia. One of the planet's most fascinating predators hyena's are highly social animals with a complex hierarchy in the clan structure. Hyenas have complex social behaviors unlike other carnivores. Behaving more like primates in group size hierarchical structure and frequency of social interaction among family as well as individual clan mates hunting together as a clan has its benefits of course. But lower ranking hyenas don't get benefits like those above them who would have been given first dibs at the carcass last night. Youngsters only have dominance if their mother is present. Low ranking adults may act aggressively towards higher ranking cubs when the mother is away on a hunt. Hyenas are known as bone - crushers having the strongest jaws out of all the predators. As well as sharp back teeth called carnassial's that's it behind their premolars. These physical features gives them ability to exert horse in a bite which allows them snap thick bones and even necks with great ease. So hyenas can eat bones and remarkably their digestive tracts are also able to digest bones. Hyena mortal enemies but these adaptation give them an advantage over some of their competitors and these physical attributes have allowed them to become pack hunters. This also means they have large territories to help them track migratory prey like buffalo. Hyena are smelly dirty scavengers and highly intelligent social animals.

Their genitals are the center of the attention at these meetings the genitals of the females resembles those of males's so closely that it is difficult to tell them apart their pseudo penis and scrotum are due to high level  of  androgens or male hormones this phenomenon is unique among mammals. Females are heavier than males and can weigh up to 83 kilograms.
