Three different types of  rhinoceros

  • White rhinoceros

  • Black rhinoceros

  • Indian rhinoceros

The name rhinoceros is derived from the Greek word that means " nose-horn"
they are the second largest land animals on the planet. Rhinos pregnancy lasts a year and half  and once on the calves are helpless. Depending on their mothers for up to three years. Rhino mothers are devoted mothers and will fight fiercely to protect their babies. They form an intense and bond are inseparable. Female rhino won't mate again until her calf  is fully independent. Rhino babies start life without a horn the nib starts to push through after a few weeks. They are born with soft flaky tissue under their feet and these slippers are extremely tender and take a few days to harden and then fall off . Male rhinos are extremely territorial the patrols large areas of his territory and marked the edges of  his boundary with urine and grass filled excrement .As clear visual not factory pointers to rival males that this is his section should they dare to enter ,all this fuss is for males only. Females are most welcome and in fact encouraged to visit and stay for as long as they're like. Rhinos must drink daily and drying conditions eventually drive rival halls into each other's territories in search for water. A set of  rules governs how these thirsty bulls must enter. Firstly they show submissive behavior by for going the act of  spraying their urine and then if they encounter the resident bull. They will flatten their ears and let out a pathetic squeak so the bull knows that they are not here to contest land but just for refreshing dip in one of this bulls. Mud is a relief  heat but also works wonders at relieving rhinos from their parasite load of  itchy ticks. In addition to a mud pack must - have accessory for any rhino is an obstacle. Birds are tick feeders and clean rhinos of  their ticks and they pick up while walking through the grass. Only one substance makes up a white rhinos diet it's difficult to believe that grass is the only item on the menu with complex digesting system helping make the most of  this substance in their large stomachs. These vegetarians get more vitamins and minerals from grass than any other grass eating animals on the planet. Defining feature of  rhinoceros is undoubtedly its horn made of  keratin the same material as hair and nails. The horns grows all the time turning into a fierce weapon of  strength that rhinos will rub to a fine long point. Horns are used for protection and to fight when a visiting bull doesn't or won't submit. They also used  for digging and for guiding babies out of  harm's way and yet this distinctively beautiful features is what humans kill them for useless to all except a rhino. Massive mammals from a bygone era. Rhino share their world with many other creatures and it's hard to imagine a wild world without them.
